Profile of an American robin.

Just a mile up the road on Canton, MI is a farm where these cattle roam in the field. Texas longhorn cattle are known for their distinctive horns. I was happy this guy came close enough to get a more intimate portrait.

My wife spotted this enomous flock (there must have been thousands) of European Starlings from the car. I immediately found a place to park to get some photos. This is my favorite because the flock looks like a great big bird shape.

I order these rock slabs from dandyslab.com. This piece was added as an extra that I did not order. I don't remember what type of rock it is. I love the mid-century mod abstract look. The actual size of the long edge is about 1/4 inch.

House wrens build several nests in their territory, but only use one to raise their young. The assumption is that they keep predators guessing this way. We've been blessed to have the raise their young twice since putting up this next box many years ...

This bird bath in our backyard is surrounded by black-eyed susans. I love how the red stands out from the foliage and the flowers. The Bird Bath is a Feature in the FAA group HDR High dynamic range imaging.

We watched this building being demolished a little at a time over several months. This is the last remaining wall. The building was some kind of small factory in the past. This HDR version makes you feel the age and the grit.

A friend of ours gave us this Just Add Ice Orchid. Reducing the saturation of the blossoms color gives them a vintage look.

A friend of ours gave us this Just Add Ice Orchid. The low-key photo shows off the hot pink color very well. This is a 15 second exposure lit with a small flashlight. I literally painted the light on the blossoms.

This photo of one our white balloon flower blossoms has been processed to look more like a painting than a photograph.

I noticed these shadows on our ceiling after we bought a new night light. The light is an LED and creates this cool blue light. I thought the shadows made a great abstract.
